The Ausline Cattle Association was the first Association to include red genetics both as the wild allele and the true red gene. Both are evident within the breed and both produce red cattle. The Ausline herdbook has the largest number of red breeders as well as the largest number of red/wild allele registered cattle. These animals are all DNA typed for coat colour and you can search for these genetics on the Association’s animal search page.
The tables below are there to help explain the probabilities of the different colour genetics. Red is a recessive gene and as such black is the dominant gene.
